What’s on your ipod? I’ve talked about podcasts here before, but there have been some recent additions to the nursing/student/generally useful podcast nation, so I am going to be including a few posts highlighting the best I’ve found.

The Nursing Show is one good choice. I like that it includes not just the most recent news and views on nursing as a profession but also covers specific clinical information. Recent topics include

Nursing Concerns for Myocardial Infarction

Patient Dietary Considerations and Nursing Care

Nursing Care of GI Elimination

Poisoning and Toxicology Myths

Mobility and Nursing Care

Pretty cool, huh?
Also remember you don’t need an ipod OR itunes to listen to podcasts. You can stream them directly from their own site (most podcasts maintain their own sites with shownotes and such) , download each episode directly onto your hard drive and then listen to them on your computer, or you can buy an old mp3 player and directly transfer them to the player. A cheap mp3 player works fine for podcasts and the simplest ones require no software at all. With plug and play technology, you can transfer the files to the mp3 player like you would to any thumb drive.
